6:30 am

*Alarm rings*

He gets up from his bed and kneels down to pray to God, thanking the almighty for another day. Asking for his mercies and favours for the day.

6:45 am

He hops into the shower, singing his favourite and Grammy award-winning song. Yes! Another wonderful live performance for his cheering fans – the droplets of hot water from the shower. His voice so good, that his fans keep on falling in their numbers, getting swept away by the way he moves his body and sings.

7:10 am

He is fully dressed, now, looking at himself in the mirror all clad and looking awesome. He looks himself straight in the eye ad recites his mantra

“You are awesome, confident and mega super ‘litt’. Today is another day to show that to the world”

7:12 am

Femi steps out of his house to go to work, smells the air filled with morning dew and fresh wet leaves from the trees opposite his house, smiles, and starts his joyous walk to the bus station. He had barely taken 7 steps when a speeding bike man (Okada rider) almost hits him, if not for his sharp instincts and reflexes that made him notice on time and he jumped out of the way. The bike man raising his hands in apology as Femi just shook his head and continued his walk to the bus station.

Femi steps out of his house to go to work, smells the air filled with morning dew and fresh wet leaves from the trees opposite his house, smiles, and starts his joyous walk to the bus station. He had barely taken 7 steps when a speeding Okada man almost hits him, though his sharp instincts and reflexes made him jump out of the way in time, it wasn’t enough as the bike man entered a puddle of water, splashing it on his trousers and shoes. The bike man continued on his merry way, raising his hands in apology as Femi brings out his handkerchief to soak and clean up the water that was splashed on him, shakes his head, and continues his walk to the terminal.

7:15 am

Femi arrives at the bus station, just in time as always, buys his ticket, enters the bus, plugs in his earpiece to listen to soothing music as he had just escaped being in an accident. He needed to relax and Darey’s songs always did that for him.

7:17 am

Femi arrives at the bus station, just a few seconds late and watches as the bus door closes and leaves. He’ll have to wait an extra 5 minutes again before the new loading bus gets completely filled up again. He buys his ticket, enters the bus.

“Well, at least I have so many seat options to choose from, seeing as I’m the first to enter the bus.” He said as he walked to the middle of the bus, a place with a good view of the mini television.

7:50 am

Femi arrives at the front of his office’s street. The traffic light is red, which means he can cross. He walks majestically to the other side of the road. He didn’t even see the black and yellow bull on all fours, with its horns locked on him. The bull sweeps him clean off the floor, painting it red with his blood.

7:55 am

Femi arrives at the front of his office’s street. There is a multitude of people gathered there. He makes his way to the front, sees Tosin, his colleague.

“Tosin, good morning, what happened?”

“It was a danfo driver o. Apparently, he was trying to beat the red light, and he hit a pedestrian that was crossing the road” an enraged Tosin voiced out. If Femi knew her well, she would have gone to kick the life out of the genitals of the driver. She has an uncanny disliking for bad drivers and those who do not follow the rules and regulations of the road.

“Whoa,” Femi said, a little startled. Not because of the accident (though He felt pity for the poor pedestrian that was being lifted into an ambulance,) but because he had this intense feeling of déjà vu… like something was different. And he couldn’t explain it.
