Hypertension is a non-communicable disease affecting many adults worldwide. It is defined as a blood pressure reading of greater than 140/90mmHg.

It is controlled by drugs and lifestyle modifications.

Diet, exercise, social habits all affect it.

A hypertensive patient is required to be on a low-salt diet, if at all salt must be in the diet. Banana and other potassium-rich foods are also very beneficial. Also avoid foods and oils with saturated fats and cholesterol. Vegetables, fruits, and calcium supplements are also useful

Exercise is very important in the control especially in overweight / obese persons. One doesn’t necessarily have to be a pro in the gym lifting weights, a simple 30 minute walk / jog per day would do. If you want more fun during exercise you can opt for swimming, cycling, and even sex.
