Smoking is very terrible for hypertensive persons. Quit it. It’s easier to stop smoking now with the advent of nicotine patches, electronic cigarettes and the likes.

Beers, spirits, and other Alcohol-containing substances are also no-go areas.

Awareness and BP measurement are vital to the control. Stroke, heart failure, kidney failure, blindness and many other diseases can be caused by hypertension.
